A Poem by Lydia Shutter

"anastasia" by garmash

when the world is overwhelming

and the horizon is suddenly dark

you are the poem i read

your waterfalls of emotion drench me

i open my mind to a kaleidoscope of color

            an ever-changing palette of hues

like colonizing a new country

words build new meanings

then take up residence in my psyche

each one like a kiss on my cheek

                        then my neck

                                    and beyond

each one thrilling me just a little more

till the world is not so bad after all

and i’m hungry to take a bite out of my day

            you need to know this

you are the poem i read

Nothing like love to start the day, especially when we are in need of inspiration. Love makes everything brighter and better. Your words are much appreciated.

Thank you, Divya. Lydi**
Some poems have a particular day kind of a feel to them. This one resonates with a monday for me...with a hint of friday on the horizon!

Wishing you a Happy Hanukkah, Lydi!

My best,
Kelly

Wow Lydi, A wonderfully romantic piece and I am guessing a poet has your fancy? Strange how the writing of others can touch us so deeply and so meaningfully.
