i
claim a hefty dollop
of summer’s humidity
reserved for only me
as i open the hatchway to my day
the balmy breeze unclutters
the rubber tree’s mind
while a susurrus of butterfly wings
buttons the still dreamy air
to my tranquilized thoughts
of just such a gentle morning
from another time
embracing your memory
i taste a tear
it’s September again, mommy

sorry for your loss too, linda.....we never forget. thanks for your review. Lydi**
I know what that is like. Summer is like that for me. It is a weird thing, that my favourite season is filled with my toughest memories. A very effective and emotive write.

Would leave only an 'amen' but.. that would be too little a thank you for sharing such beautiful tears. Your writing always whispers, 'Read between the lines' and i do.. and am moved.

Tears, Lydi - so sweet and gentle are your words. Like the memory of a loved one, this poem starts with subtle images and leaves us longing to hold on to the moment... This is really beautiful.
