i claim a hefty dollop
of summer’s humidity
reserved for only me
as i open the hatchway to my day
the balmy breeze unclutters
the rubber tree’s mind
while a susurrus of butterfly wings
buttons the still dreamy air
to my tranquilized thoughts
of just such a gentle morning
from another time
embracing your memory
i taste a tear
it’s September again, mommy

i miss you

Sweet Lydi, I feel your angst as you approach the time of loss for your dear mommy! No matter how many is the years, the emotions are the same as the memories come pouring back like a raging river. We dry the tears, we try to move on, but I don't think we ever really recover from the loss of one who has been such an important part of our world!!
May you find a bit of peace during this time of pain!! Your mom would want it for you, but that doesn't make it any easier!!
Hugs for you!!!!!!!!

A lovely tribute to your beloved mother, Lydi. She is an angel now, wrapped tightly in the arms of your father and together they are watching over you from above. God bless you and the ones you love.

With the official start of Autumn/Fall on the dawn of this new day, thoughts turn poignantly to your dear mother, sadly no longer with you but the reminders of her precious memory are everywhere at this particular time !

A wonderfully relayed, remembrance Lydia!

Sigh, I feel this one my friend...next March will mark the third anniversary of my Dad's passing, but the years are irrelevant because it always feels like yesterday...I was tranquilized by the butterfly wings buttoning the dreamy air...it's hard not to dream when you catch of glimpse of them, whenever you see them...they just have the way about them...whenever we lose a parent, they revert to mommy and daddy even if we discard those terms with the passing of age...you've expressed yourself with unparalleled beauty here Lydi...this one went right to my heart.
