i
claim a hefty dollop
of summer’s humidity
reserved for only me
as i open the hatchway to my day
the balmy breeze unclutters
the rubber tree’s mind
while a susurrus of butterfly wings
buttons the still dreamy air
to my tranquilized thoughts
of just such a gentle morning
from another time
embracing your memory
i taste a tear
it’s September again, mommy

Mother's Day, Father's Day, their anniversary, their birthdays, their deaths.......all in the course of May through September. Truth is, I miss them every day. They were my world. Yes, we can share. Thank you very much. Lydi**

It certainly does create memories, to many in different way. September I always think of my father, good memories.

There is always something bittersweet about early autumn. While it is a beautiful time of year, it reminds us that the carefree days of summer are gone and those memories become more poignant than ever. This is a wonderful tribute to your mom, Lydi.
Yes...
The spiral of our lives...
Revisiting the proximity of past moments and somehow being a small skip from the future of inevitable proximity to today's joys and sorrows.
You do your mother justice to memorialize her so in poetic expression.
Lovely!
Your words are warm and soothing, David. Thank you. Lydi**

How can sad be so beautiful, you sure know the secret to that Lydi. I loved this poem. September comes and the air changes, there is just something that feels different, but the memories will always remain the same.

And your poetry is always so beautiful. You are welcome.
We called grandma nanny goggles because she always wore old fashioned pink national health service glasses. Hardly ever took them off, just sort of pushed them up over her forehead. We loved her so much, and we'd stay over at weekends as often as we could. She had four spare bedrooms in her house and they were always full of kids, me, my sister, our two cousins, plus any friends we wanted to stay. During the season, she'd take us all blackberry picking in the hedgerows, and in early spring we'd go to Nobottle woods and walk among the bluebells. We'd like for her to have stayed with us forever and I know my dad still misses her terribly, even after all this time. When she passed, it was so peaceful for her, she just fell asleep in her favourite chair in the conservatory that overlooked the garden. My dad kept her house in the family and rents it out because he didn't want to sell it.
Sorry, I've gone on far too long, but I just wanted you to know how much I understand about how you feel.
Beccy. x
