a fossil so docile

a fossil so docile

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

sometimes you just gotta tell 'em!

"

“woman in front of window” by botero
in the hem of my haw
you will find
my tongue in a cheek
the facial kind
hear the caffeine percolate
i’m a fossil - so docile
you mistakenly assume
but I digress
please let me resume
searching for one to desecrate
never doubt my temerity
my boldness - so daring
or my harsher words
you’ll soon be wearing
no new verbs to conjugate
i’m fluent in audacious
it’s my first language you see
afraid i threw political correctness out
with pseudo timidity
your opinions with me hold no weight
watch my strobe light now
till your irises stagger
i’m not impressed
with your arrogant swagger
not a slippery mamby pamby
neither far right or near left
i’ll dance around your insults
movements dexterous and deft
your ignorance - no way i’ll tolerate
read this you might
or might not i realize
in articulate rhetoric
i now say my goodbyes

oooooh you go girl!! I love the sassy in this one.. Just the right amount of feisty and fierceness done in a classy, intellectual way that bites... RAWR... felt this slap and it stings alright... well done ma'am... and let me just say, I am glad that I am on the right side of those claws... :)

Did somebody say the caffeine was percolating? Lol, I love your "whoopass" just as much as your flagrant use of metaphors, Lydi!

Is the coffee done yet? ; )

I appreciate your review, Jacob....for sure a Bronx guy would know. Fuggedaboudit! :)
Hi Lydi, this gave me a good giggle. It would make a great dissertation on self empowerment.( LOL). Having mastered a linguistic fluency in Audacious, you cannot fail to subjugate the PC Brigade.
My compliments...Norman

This is brilliant Lydi. Such moxy! Sadly, the recipient may be to obtuse to get it, but eventually he/she will. :)

Ha only you could so eloquently tell someone to take a flying leap & fook off!

"i’m fluent in audacious" indeed, and graduated first in the top of your class of sarcastic rhetoric ...I love you Lydikey!

You have to look at what John said. :)
A vexed poem full of clever vitriol and written so expertly with a sharp tongue Lydi. Loved the stanza:
'watch my strobe light now
till your irises stagger
i’m not impressed
with your arrogant swagger'

Indeed. I understand that.
Whoever is on the receiving end of this quite brilliantly worded scything, epigrammatic riposte, like the irksome nettles and thistles they once were, have been well and truly mown down and are now withering away into obscurity !

Exquisitely and sublimely poetically reproachful to the desired effect Lydia !
