Words on a Page

the words we read leave an impact on us

Y
ou generously gave me
words on a page
     simple words
dancing on the lunatic fringe
Adverbs lustily following
action verbs
Adjectives pushing
nouns deeply into the abyss
of pronouns
           names without a face-
yet totally recognizable

Your ink on the page
behaving so much like
small pulsing jolts
of blue lightning
serving to modify parts of me
that for the first time
were miraculously
not misplaced

Others have given me
candles, wine and song
but you, you gave me
words on a page
the most generous gift of all

three very distinct flavors in this delicious write... oooooooh yes!!!! the obvious "grammer" layer which is creatively clever and brilliant... Then the heated use of those cleverly used "tools" on the page, then the last layer is the message of sweet words written for others to enjoy.... this has to be one of my all time favorite pieces I have read on here so far..... by a mile... it has thought-provoking personification and metaphors, it has sensual, seductive, teasing heat, and it has sweet romance and deep meaning... well-rounded STUNNING write... I am in awe!!

I really liked the play with adverbs and nouns.. as poets we all use it blending it with spice. The meaning of this is so deep.. the words you have written are nameless yet i can recognize it- shows how strong your bond is. Everyone had gifted worldly things- but words on a page from the core of heart is worth more than anything.. cheers Lydi. I simply loved it!! Stunning piece.:)
