how much

how much

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

there is something very special about spending time with either of my granddaughters

"

                    today

                                     you skipped

across the tense span of my life

scattering the baggage i've been forced to carry

                to parts unknown

          it’s true

while the sun was high in the sky

the strangely familiar flavor of happiness

danced across my taste buds

like spring rain watering flowers

your smile nourished my soul

                    that’s why

i’ll always write you poems full of sweetness

even put some icing and sprinkles on the top

hoping someday you will understand

how much your oma loves you

what a beautiful sentiment.. you can feel the pure joy and love in this one girl.. I hope you are saving these for them to read later... imagery is whimsical and playful, it makes my heart smile as your radiant spirit dances across the page in sheer bliss.. what a sight to behold.. just lovely...

You know it, Mark. Thanks for the review. lydi**
We sometimes decry the true value of sweetness and innocence here. Or at least some of us do. Some of us are also very envious that some can write about this and so eloquently as well.

Truly didn't notice this was for a grandchild but, felt an innocent, light-as-light call to and need for a free, relaxed and shiny bright real life!
