I Want To Be

I Want To Be

The first Friday Night Write in a long time......

I want to be…..

the cologne evaporating on your chest
as the air conditioner swirls over your skin
after a shower

the merlot tickling your tongue
as a vapor trail of crystal beads slips down your goblet
to kiss your hand

the sweetly sensual thought making you smile
sating your every hunger
in the middle of a routine day

a droplet of nourishment for your soul
the soothing sensation for which you search
when the world is too rough

the tune you hum to yourself
without even thinking about it
loving how it makes you feel

I want to be yours

Their are people in my life who do this for me... Just thinking about them is as real as if I actually were sipping the wine. It is heavenly and I feel it indicates a mental maturity to be satisfied in this experience of the mind. Of course I'm not ready to turn away the flesh at t his point either. Ha.
This is a good desire to have however Lydi. To be the joy in another person's day or life is a blessing beyond receiving our own dreams for ourselves.
Lovely poetry from a lovely poet!

"the tune you hum to yourself

You write so tenderly Lydia. As if there is a solemn agreement, an oath to doing so by law or
moral influence. I consider the woman writers that come here to be the finest poetry writers in
the world . Each one of you bring a different perspective and knowledge to this site.

I appreciate everything you do.
lovely write,

"...the merlot tickling your tongue as a vapor trail of crystal beads slips down your goblet to kiss your hand". Wow. This mongrel is more than happy with this delightful morsel of a Friday Night write. You always play with words in a fashion that obviously contains passion, but never is it sullied with cheapness or smut. You have once again reminded me just why I read poetry. Consider this a bouquet of roses tossed upon your stage. Bravo. ~Jim

You are such a sweetie, Sye. Thank you very much. Lydi**
Sounds like a great way to spend a Friday night to me, be it the poetry or, well an adaptation let's say. Every stanza carries its own little pockets of delightful sensuality, with some very unique metaphors to boot. A sultry and seductive ride you've taken me on here Lydi :)

It is so nice to see your work on this screen again my friend. This poem today has placed a smile where it hasn't been in a while.
