memories
invisible for so long
suddenly appear
with the touch
of an evil magician’s wand presto!
there they are again
in all their glory
words burn my tongue
as i say them for the first time
in what seems like forever
they do a dance
before making a swan dive
into the audible world
a sort of non-retaliatory depository
as it were
and it is then i realize
they belonged to not only me
i was not the only one
who cried myself to sleep remembering
and somehow
that makes
all the difference
Yes, it's so important and it makes a difference when you share your pain to someone. It lessens your burden...having such feeling that someone helps you carry your loads. But it's not a one-sided thing. Somehow you wanted someone to treat you the same...that you could also be a shoulder to cry on. And it really makes a difference...and creates a strong connection.
This is great, Lydi. Thanks for the share.

I loved this! I have lived this... as we all have. Very expertly expressed. I really like how you refer to the return of those memories we would much rather stay vaulted, reappear in a 'non-retaliatory depository". Thank you for sharing.
Wow, I'm glad I found you again, Lydia. My old account encountered an error so I had to make a new one. As always, your poem is beautiful--the structure, the content, the message. I look forward to reading more of your works.

I appreciate your review so much. Thank you. Lydi**
No one likes reliving the pain in their mind. How we like to forget altogether. But once there, their we are and go again, with darkness raining in it seems. Wonderful piece.
Memories do have a way of jumping up to bite when we least expect it... and sharing the pain is the only thing that makes it bearable. I feel this one, Lydi.

Rita, I appreciate your review. Have a great weekend. Lydi**
Your words here melt my heart. Poems are made-up of our pains and overwhelming feelings and I am happy every time I read feelings. It is hard to share them; to expose ourselves naked to strangers using words, to sigh it out when we are not understood. I am glad to share yours, Lydi. :)

Thank you for handling my feelings with so much care, Eloisa. I appreciate this review. Lydi**
This is such a moving, dancing write.. the pain carried through life, yet lifted by the hands of another... How beautiful to have people in your life who stay with you in the dark places.. and who help carry those loads.
