your meaning wafts

through the air

as you speak

the weight of your words

like a warm blanket

of delicious knowledge

under which i thrive

i pilfer a noun

pairing it with a purloined verb

then carry them home with me

in the last sunlight of the day

"I pilfer a noun, pairing it with a purloined verb"
Your knowledge of the English language serves you well in your poetry,
and to include it in your poetry is pure genius.

I am not sure I know the difference ( but I fake it quite well ) (I think)

Always enjoy your work.

"purloined verbs", these are the words that always got me tongue tied when I read.. I can see you reading Lydi, French words, and not only carrying them home but then throwing them all over your room until a poem was formed and then shared.. knowledge!!!, now there is a word that needs lots of sunlight.. ~~redzone

You are most welcome.
Words are very important factor for learning. Sometimes, even a word can teach us something...especially if it came from an admired person.

But in life...our own experiences in our daily basis can teach us more lessons...that's our learning. And perhaps through them we can find the meaning of if not all at least an aspect of our lives.

A meaningful piece, Lydi. Thank you for posting this.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Dh! Lydi**
you describe so well the weight of words yet they do not weigh you down, but quite the opposite
as you carry them home, of course it all depends on the one who speaks the words ;)

Thank you very much, Dana. Be well. Lydi**
This somehow is nostalgia... to me, whether you could be this beautiful person who reads for those little ones, or anyones... or maybe it's a great memory or moment, you want to show us, from your "oma" or even a "teacher"... it gave me a warm feeling, and made me think of my own moments, simular to this one. So very nice Lydi, you always write with much empathic greatness. Knuffels...
