When dusk whittles the day
down to mere shadows
you crawl into the bottomless pockets
of my fantasies
inflaming the edges of craving
awakening sleepy longing
you measure my meaning
not with syllables
but with sensations oui, mon amour with the lyrical
elegance of a kiss
you help me tattoo the naked page
and I thank you
I love the idea of bottomless pockets of fantasy!! Tattoo the naked page! There is so much to be said about the lovely flow of this poem. I am especially satisfied with the unity of the theme. All too often I find poems stray from the main topic. This one remains intimately, intensely focused on its object of affection, and I believe that is the best one can do in writing!
"with the lyrical elegance of a kiss / you help me tattoo the naked page". Whew. I think those are exactly the kind of lines my mother warned me against reading. Smoldering stuff. Well done. ~Jim

Lydi, this is so very wonderful and gorgeous. It is as if i can hear you sighing as you speak these words in your mind. Your pen always flows in such exquisite ink and I know your words will always be permanent in my heart. Very smooth, soft and subtle.

Ah Lydi this vibrates on your page, like a tattoo artist's iron would, there's a quiet magic in your words, just always takes me away in my mind to another place and time.........stunning my friend.
Your pages are tattoed with beautiful lyrics and your heart is tattoed with flowing passions. Your meanings are measured in cascading sensations...A wonderful poem...:).................
