morning

morning

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

It’s morning
the language of the wind
     spirited

          almost animated
               in its brisk alacrity

speaks softly to me
as stars wave adieu
from pockets of night

My universe tilts
as the first rays of sun
kiss my neck
for a moment
life is transparent
lies become truths
yearnings are fulfilled

Yes

      I feel life
this morning

Ahh, the morning... it’s often revitalizing when you had a good rest from last night. This piece speaks of beauty in the early dawn, a feel good poem. It’s like your words embrace warmth from the early rise of the sun. It’s simply beautiful!

I do not feel the need to be cured at all! haha. Infect me more! :)
The morning seems cleansing to me sometimes, particularly in Winter when the night seems so dark and claustrophobic. There is release within this piece...strength, solace, beautiful x

I have always been a morning person. Yes, they are cleansing. Thank you, Poppy. Lydi**
This is lovely. Witnessing the sunrise in silence, just taking in the immensity of the world itself, is a beautiful thing.

One of the true gifts common to all great writers, whatever genre they choose to labour or lounge upon is the ability to capture moments. You have this gift and you do it so well. I am just so glad that you take the time to share it.... N

Enjoying every minute... It would have been just a tad corny to have said, last word. N
dear Lydi... beautiful poem about life
and the sun kissing your neck. Happy
for the sun to come out after so much rain.
The Rappahannock River was
rushing out of town to join the Ocean
and explore the world. We are content
sunning in serenity. truly... Pat
