Oh moon and stars
I beseech you
open your samovar of sparkle
allow this night to lounge a while longer
permit my blonde tendrils
to tangle with the hair on his chest
for a few more moments
rosy cheeked and sanguine
I fervently plead
sanction our rendezvous
with your celestial light
that this night shall last
till 100 tomorrows have evanesced
for nothing is truly ours
but this moment
and our love
Reads like a timeless classic, Lydi! What a bittersweet pain it is...we cannot make glorious moments last but in memory. Everything about this write spells poetic elegance. "for nothing is truly ours
but this moment and our love"...one of the most memorable lines ever written in the history of poetry. Incredible, my friend.

This is surely a softest moment, Poetess. I read the words and sat back with a smile and a sense of pure contentment. Ah, if I ever should find such a like then would my life, in its romanticism be complete... I would have found my ideal Browning. Lovely, simply beautiful... Ron.
So beautifully romantic Lydi... nothing is truly ours but this moment and our love...(sigh) The perfect ending to the perfect love poem...and the artwork is gorgeous as well.
I'm so glad you're back!

This is so wonderful, Lydi. If I could be the moon or one of the stars, I would grant your wish right away and would watch and light you in that very romantic moment.
Well-chosen words. Same lovely structure. Keep it up, romantic poet.
Penned from the depths of your heart a plea for more time with the one you love.Indeed it is what we all want and said so elegantly.Lovely sweet Lydi:)
