LapseA Poem by Lydia ShutterEven a ho-hum day can inspire!Artwork by Jessica Durant “Black and Blue for You” courtesy
of etsy.com My last breath of sleep morphs
into a sluggish morning then
climbs a mountain of responsibility ever defying gravity my
personal velocity is set at less than brisk and
my alacrity seems to be missing in action prudently
placed steps get me to where I need to be acting as an indentured servant to this empty house which is not a benevolent master still,
I serve my time willingly facing every banana peel slip up with a song and a smile confident it will soon lapse
