Even a ho-hum day can inspire!

My last breath of sleep

morphs into a sluggish morning

then climbs a mountain of responsibility

ever defying gravity

my personal velocity is set at less than brisk

and my alacrity seems to be missing in action

prudently placed steps get me to where I need to be

           acting as an indentured servant

                   to this empty house

                          which is not a benevolent master

still, I serve my time willingly

     facing every banana peel slip up

          with a song and a smile

               confident it will soon lapse into a poem

Oh I know the exact feeling of waking like this Lydi... our "dreamers-mind" is always there, even though we must do our responsibilities, and it ain't always easy, with souls who pick up so many things during their day ha! ;) But there comes always art out of each and every impression/impulse, so as your art, is the one of a true poetess.... thank you for sharing this one... magnificent!

The ho-hum of a blue day is a condition of which we are often a victim, but somehow we forge on, wipe up the mess from the banana peel slip, and forge on for that bit of sunshine that awaits us to discover -the iron of will is victorious in a world that is too often "Hell-bent" on doing us in!! I suppose I refer to these black and blue days as the bruises of a life that is "lived", and not hidden from!

I like your words of survival!! And oh how perfect is the image - the face somewhat elusive, not wanting to become lost in the pain of life, but rather dipping in and out of it in shades of black and blue with a large space of area left undiscovered!

Each day is gift for everyone. A chance to do the things need to be done. A chance to make choices for life. Responsibilities are never ending. Sometimes we just have to face the reality that we have to wake up to test our perseverance in some aspects of life. LOL.

Yes, we sometimes stumble into the morning, stumble into life not quite ready. Still have to move forward. Got to do it. Maybe we'll get to rest later and rest. And when has life been benevolent. This is something the Universe doesn't know. I wish it did, but those are the wishes and beliefs of perhaps the young which have not been hardened by reality.
