salty winds of change

salty winds of change

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

“An Aspiring Actress Arrives In Hollywood” by Janet Hill

i tasted the salty winds of change

while leaning on the lamp post of desire

my past and present roads

                     intersected sensually

unspent fantasies jingled in my pockets

stars chattered about it all

till the sun awakened with a smile

all because

          you tied a sensual melody

                  around my dreams

This would appear to be one of those romantic pieces you were telling me about ;) I do sense a dark metaphor at work here, but the lyrical sway of your images and observations compel me to consider it a love story. Yet it can still be read and interpreted in any number of ways. And like many below, I thought the unspent fantasies was a killer image and a sort of thesis statement for all that follows. Wonderful work :)

You're welcome Lydi... knuffels!
Extremely beautiful my friend. I have leaned against that lamp post too, except the bulb was burned out. This was soft and touching and wonderful as I always seem to find in your work.
