Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of Champions

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by Josephine Wall

G olden beams of sunlight
form a mosaic on morning clouds
a lover’s breath
morphs into a greedy sigh
                    a sugar coated moment
                           measured by desire
                                   meant to last forever
hungry morning lips will be sated
by the breakfast of champions

I believe some loves are meant to last forever, and this is a beautiful testament. Thank you for sharing your love with us, I hear it's your anniversary, (big smile) That's just so inspiring. Congratulations, I can only imagine the many times you had to bite your tongue to get there to the sugar coated moments most can only dream of.

I had to stop by to read a Lydi poem, and you never disappoint...always Artful...my breakfast of champion use to be a cigarette and coffee, but it's vapor and a coffee lol

Awesome as always, the format and choices words that you magically sprinkle on the page is a champion in itself, Madame Lydi. :)
