mundane monday

mundane monday

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

manic monday, begone!

"

artwork by andrew atroshenko “contemplation”

the words
        like threads
help me sew a tapestry of the day
silken linguistics slip through
the needle of miscellany
a frivolous bagatelle soon takes form
                so regal
an accouterment to drape over
my chair of ennui
on an oh-so- mundane monday

"Poetry translates the mundane into the magical." quote from L. Shutter ;0) and I think this is all that really needs to be said about this very "nice" and UN-mundane Monday poem... Lydi, I think you are one of the very few who could write such a wonderful line as : "silken linguistics slip through
the needle of miscellany" and with this, each and every day becomes alive with art and the desire to create.... it is always so wonderful to read your creations... be well Lydi, ~~redzone

Oh, this was just a beautiful display of language and imagery, Lydi! I'm in love with the "threads" and the way that you chose to write "sew a tapestry of the day"-- great line. Monday is no longer mundane after this write!

I feel as if I just look a ride down that silken thread and through the needle of miscellany right into a Tuesday with hope other than mundane......beautiful!
