mundane monday

mundane monday

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

manic monday, begone!

"

artwork by andrew atroshenko “contemplation”

the words
        like threads
help me sew a tapestry of the day
silken linguistics slip through
the needle of miscellany
a frivolous bagatelle soon takes form
                so regal
an accouterment to drape over
my chair of ennui
on an oh-so- mundane monday

"Poetry translates the mundane into the magical." quote from L. Shutter ;0) and I think this is all that really needs to be said about this very "nice" and UN-mundane Monday poem... Lydi, I think you are one of the very few who could write such a wonderful line as : "silken linguistics slip through
the needle of miscellany" and with this, each and every day becomes alive with art and the desire to create.... it is always so wonderful to read your creations... be well Lydi, ~~redzone

What a lovely lap shawl you have sewn together to warm our hearts, Lydi. You have brightened up a "mundane Monday," or, as it is for me tonight, "a mundane Thursday" with your uniquely eloquent words.

I wish I had read this on Monday - I'm certain my Monday would not have been mundane...Your poetry always transports me to somewhere I would rather be than stuck at a desk behind a computer....

With poetry like yours...there can never be a mundane Monday! This poem holds so true for all us poets... a poem can take the monotony out of a Monday like no other. For me, it totally makes the day worth living. Your poetry speaks directly to my heart, my friend. Loved this one!

Skillfully woven words Lydi...how can we have boring days when we are weaving our poems
with hues of wonder...and being able to share them with the world...Rose

Yes Lydi, the company of words can simmer up a home brew to help ward off many things even if it's only self applied. Your friend in words, Pete

You make Monday seem so bright... so brilliant.. in glimpses and wonder, threaded together into perfection. Finding that no day is too mundane when one has poets like you speaking such beauty over them. :)

Everytime I view Monday as another calamitous start to the working week, I'll reflect on the eloquent words of your poem Lydi and remind myself that it is a day rich in detail, just as every day is and truly blessed we are to be able to enjoy each one!
