so
many words floating through my mind
over there, don’t you see?
mary poppins and peter pan have taken them hostage i mean
where is that fairy godmother when i need her?
she could just wave that silly magic wand
and turn them all into a poem! and another thing
where is the famous AFL-CIO picket line?
surely they would have signs pleading with all citizens to FREE VERSE
seems like they have all abandoned me tonight
so here i remain
words and syllables everywhere
and not a drop of poetry to write
the yellow brick road cannot be followed
it’s closed for repair
seems like there oughta be a law, ya know?
perhaps i am not really a poet at all
i just play one on line but i digress...
I feel like you just wrote the script to my upcoming movie "Words Hate Me". The use of language, as always, is brilliant (I can easily envision picketers screaming "What do we want ?" Verse be free / "When do we want it ?" "Immediately !"). But, I too digress. Very excellent look at those times when words and concepts are everywhere, but our pen cannot quite capture them. ~Jim

Grat chant for a picket line! Can you picture the scene? LOL I so appreciate your wonderful comments. I hope that movie never comes to fruition...because you are a wordsmith for sure. Take care. Its a familiar but thankfully only a transient problem Lydia, all those delightful words and ideas swilling around inside your mind will just as quickly fall into place and reveal themselves in another eloquent poem, when you least expect it !
Infact presto! They already have just done so with this absorbing and clever description of this frustrating conundrum!

:) thanks so much, Tom. Have a wonderful weekend. Lydi**
This is a truly invigorating piece. I've been in your place often. I love this rich of thoughts, I wish one day I could do just as you. Grab the attention of the reader and have them pluck about within your thoughts ~jereny
Love this and how you bring the reader into your thoughts oh so cleverly. This is such a masterful; piece. There is only one other poet I have read who writes as well as this and he is on another site I used to be on.
Your words make me sigh with a dream of one day writing like this! Digress more often!!
