They say you're gone, that you're just too far gone

You can't hide the scars forever, you can't hide in the dark

No one needs to know, but you don't have to suffer for your life

But they don't know what it's like to feel like us

They don't know how it burns when you slice your skin

Or how you know exactly down deep the cuts are

They'll never understand until they get that low

And the chance at being happy slips away

People always say that society will help you

That friends are what's important

But when your friends turn their back because of what you do to stay sane

You just wish there was one, someone heavensent.

Blood swirls down the drain as you're alone, crying as you hold yourself together another day

No one sees that you're trying to live

You don't want to die

You're just so desperate to try, to cry your heart out

But no one listens when you're at your lowest

The darkest hour comes not in the night

But when you're alone and can't face your fears

The world needs to wake before it's too late

And all the young people die

They write words on their skin, crying every n ight

People say you want attention

But you don't believe them

Because you know your real reason

And they wouldn't want to hear it

F**k the world, f**k the people

Make them hear your voice

Write, scream, or sing your way to a brighter day

They can't take that away

They can't take away your right to be happy

And they can't tell you it's just a phase.

They'll never see the signs of suicide, but they'll always see a reason

A fair way to say that a country is falling on it's knees

When it's own youth are scared of themselves and their own world

The fact they kill themselves is overlooked

But the emo trend is not real

We're all writers and singers, screaming out for someone to hear us cry

There's nothing in the world that can stop us from our goals.
