Nobody's HeroA Story by LyLyLee didn't really mind the rain in the mornings.
The rain was once more beating upon the small apartment, but it wasn't like it was so bad. When Lee had first moved here, she wasn't expecting the rain to be so constant. But at least it never really snowed, and that itself soothed her down from her worries. However as hard as it rained, there was no chance that she could hear it over the bass that pounded in her earbuds. The drawn out vocals were of a man she'd grown to adore for her own reasons, and the drawing on the table in front of her was just another fanart of her latest inspiration from the band's music. Biersack was a hero, a saviour, but the one person that had taken her away from the worst parts of herself was the young woman still asleep on the futon beside her. Lee hated waking her lover up unless she had to, and right now, all she wanted was to get the shading right on the logo she was trying her hand at. Her handwriting wasn't too great, so she usually tried to keep things simple, the strokes sweet, and the colors to black, grey, and white. Maybe a splash of ruby and crimson for the leather wings... Her eye were focused, her lips moving silently with the lyrics of a much older song, but the one that had started it all and ultimately been her stress reliever. What was so special about the lyrics, really? It was the meaning that had driven her away from pop music and into the waiting hands of many metal bands that had helped her through her mental surges of depression. But she'd kept at the music therapy recommended by a close friend, and it seemed to help her (even more so when she could just focus onto the music and lose herself like this).
The brunette was quiet, the rain outside ignored by that slow and steady hand. Marie ha woken a few minutes ago, but had been content to just watch Lee's motions. Lee's artwork was always different, and she couldn't replicate another; it was just how it worked for her. What her life had become, from that crime-based town in Ohio, was rather well now. But she'd never turn her back on the bands that shaped who she was. Marie snuggled closer to Lee, her eyes still sleepy and her pajamas keeping her warm under the blanket. Lee's eyes left the paper as she put down the pencil and rubbed her temples softly, one of her ear buds slipping free and dangling from her neck. A chuckle escaped her lips, but the song was pretty loud and clear on that freed bud. Lee let her voice fall quietly, overlapping the vocals given by the raven born of her own home state. "Knives and Pens" lyrics fell from her lips, her eyes focused onto the nearest window. The words rang true in her lowest times, and it really was something special when Lee let her passion show for music. She couldn't keep a beat, but she knew she wanted to just enjoy the music for what it really was. Where would she be without the iconic BVB? Well, she'd probably have settle for someone else that she didn't love, and would have still been listening to Backstreet Boys daily. Now her mainstream songs were hard rock and up only, although she did like slower songs here and there. Marie smiled softly as the lyric rolled over Lee's tongue, the flare in her eyes a beauty Lee had almost lost many times. Things were better now, but her music was her only real escape when she couldn't talk. The song changed over to something a little more recent, probably on shuffle thought Marie, and the the brunette grinned as she mouthed the words to the song, her hand instinctively going to Maire's. Lee's eyes went toward her lover, surprised to see her awake. Lee quickly blushed and looked away, biting her lip before pecking Marie's lips softly. The girls chuckled at each other a moment before Lee nuzzled up close, her artwork left on the table as she wrapped her arms around her other salvation, her eyes gentle and loving. All the while, she still had one ear bud resting in her right ear as her iPod played away and her lips found their home against Marie's. A soft sensation that always ran through the rocker's blood soothed her, a hand rubbing at Marie's lower back to ease the ache out from it before it could grow out of hand. A quiet whisper was said into Marie's ear from Lee's lips as she pressed them against that wonderfully sweet neck, "I'm nobody's hero." "Nobody's, except mine," came the chuckled response from Marie. Lee only grinned and hugged her lover closer, just happy to be where she was. (Knives and Pens is the work of Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides.) © 2013 LyLyAuthor's Note
