One-room Home

One-room Home

A Poem by Luxe

In my mind
There is a home
And in this home
There are floral curtains
That shade the room from
The lack of sunlight outside
The floors are eroded and masked with dust
Minus the one trail leading from my bed to the window
That over looks the rocky cliffs and shores ahead
My mattress is ancient
And only provides enough support to hold me together at the seams
So I can't stand up to long
Or I'll fall apart like a Jenga puzzle
My home is one room
One room one being
My dear Xavier
My dear Josie
Or whomever you're made out to be
My home is the fail of a mother I've become
To even the smallest fragment of existence
And the one thing truly in my possession
My home is marked by a mailbox
That echo's the sounds of the wind
In a eerie but quite beautiful way
This is the music that travels through
The over grown shrubbery
And into my glasses of wine
This is the home I destroyed
Because he chose to rob me of it
This is the home that's up for sale
To the highest bidder
This is the home that is now empty
By the hand of his lust and selfishness
In my mind
There's a home
This home has floral curtains
And a glass of warm milk sitting on the night stand
This home has lullaby's
This home has "I love you"'s
This home has motherhood and strength
This home is for you and I, darling.

About
We are together, all the pieces of me, parts of me, and people I'm made of. We were born together, we live together and we'll die together. I am nothing but the sky and every element that makes up our.. more..
