Species

Species

A Poem by Luxe

I was devastated
Nothing less than demolished to the core
The moment I discovered
I am the only one of my species

Natural selection
Has led me to the wretched state
I have existed in
Since the beginning of my time

I have no one
Not one to understand my ways
Or why I chose to live a serpents life
Not one person to comprehend
The misery of surviving as a demon

My intentions dumbfound me
As they are often good
With a heart of gluttony and greed
And yet I firmly have faith
That I am a good person at heart

Being one of my own species
Calls for desperate measures
To appear human
To look no different and act just the same

A master of disguise
I lead a walk around to earth
Alone
And constantly pondering my upcoming extinction

About
We are together, all the pieces of me, parts of me, and people I'm made of. We were born together, we live together and we'll die together. I am nothing but the sky and every element that makes up our.. more..
