You Are Sadly Here

You Are Sadly Here

A Poem by Luxe

Tomorrow I'll be by the fire
Lighting up north attleboro
Like a small red dot saying,

"You are here"

I'll be there
But you won't
Like you were supposed to be
And I guess that's because of me
And you
But mostly me

There's a notebook lying near me
With pictures of us from last prom
And I pray to God
That the hall is dark enough tomorrow
So know one can see the salt water accumulating
In the corners of my eyes

"You are here"

The sign says
With the little red dot
But this time
It's saying "you" as in me
Meaning only me

Not "you" as in when you would hold my hands
And someone would say "you guys are the sweetest ever"
No

Its "you" as in me
Me alone
And. you. are. not. here.

About
We are together, all the pieces of me, parts of me, and people I'm made of. We were born together, we live together and we'll die together. I am nothing but the sky and every element that makes up our.. more..
