Amicus Amissa

Amicus Amissa

A Poem by Lux in Tenebris
"

Has been a while but here's my latest work hope you enjoy, title translates to "Lost Friend"

"
All things start, and all things end
Today I must be honest, I cannot pretend.

Today is both a first, and a last,
I must put it to rest, must become a part of my past.

You may wonder by what I mean,
I will explain myself, wipe the slate clean.

No more will I get walked on by you,
Never before have I been so far from you.

The final time I will wait for you to arrive,
But I know for sure I can survive.

Fed up of you apologizing for your mis-lead ways,
For now my feet are at home in the sand and the waves.

No more will I worry if what I'm doing is right,
Perhaps now I can sleep at night

For todays the last day our friendship will survive,
As painful as it is, it has arrived.

I wish you well, now knowing you're happy,
But I am not, I'm hurt badly.

Should the circumstances change at all,
I'll always be here to call.

I will always be here hoping for you,
Please, be the person you know you're supposed to.

Life can seem cruel, with many changes,
But as I have learnt, a blessing can have many faces.

So every time you look up and see a shining star
Just think that's me, smiling from a far.

It's painful to loose a friend and your poem demonstrates all the feelings of loss in a very simple way, with an open heart. Thank you for sharing.
