The Sad Truth

I also wrote this about three years ago. Dug these up on poetry.com....enjoy!

Why wasn't it me he wanted to date?
Was this my horrible and sad fate?

No, I am in love, I say to myself, as he
Ignores me as though I'm not there.

Why can't he understand?
This is not what I planned.

Oh God, help me get over it,
Because I'm falling down into a bottomless pit.

My family and friends are always there,
They are the ones that truly care.

Conflicting emotions is all I can see,
This is a day in the life of me.
