Take Action

This is a poem I wrote because our world is so messed up and all we need is love (R.I.P John Lennon) and we need to give peace a chance(R.I.P John Lennon).

Where did the love go?

Why is there so much anger?

Our days on the planet are numbered,

Our Mother Earth, let's help her.

 

Why is it that we can get new iPods every year,

But we still can't find the cure for cancer?,

If we stopped funding these useless things,

Would we find it faster?

 

How come you care more about what's on the outside?,

And not what's in your head?,

Maybe you yell at your parents,

You should be grateful, for some kids' parents are dead.

 

People are dying and crying,

Lord, save us from ourselves,

We are destroying all we've ever known,

We are too proud to ask for help.

 

Hardworking children are starving,

Although we lazy people are gluttons,

We need help to see,

What we must do.

 

What happened to the respect?,

We need to start now,

Right now,

Before we get consumed in our self-constructed world of hate.

 

Times have changed for interracial love,

But people still whisper,

And give those looks,

Where is the acceptance?

 

What have Americans done wrong?,

Why is it that we're hated?,

Why can't we love each other?,

If we don't start, the end of the world is fated.

 

I dream of a world where we all get along,

Where no one is hated because of race,

Where we gain our respect back,

In this world of a fast pace.

 

Why are you sitting there, looking confused?,

Can't you understand that a revolution is coming?,

Get up, RIGHT NOW!, don't just sit around,

Let's get back to the peace and loving.

 

Why do you stay at home and watch T.V?,

Do I have to shove it in your face to see?,

Get out of your bubble,

And VOTE!

 

Who cares what people say about hippies?,

All they want is peace,

So let's grab our signs,

And shout and march!

 

So sit up, shut up, and understand,

Movies, music, and fashion,

Those things aren't important,

So learn all you can and take action.
