You are the only you

You are the only you

A Poem by Luuucy

Sitting barefoot on my rooftop

As I watch you walk by

No lingerings of doubt left

From more critical eyes

You smile more broadly

You treat life more fondly

As you sit and you ponder

The two yous you defy

Sitting by your window

With your chin in your knees

Linger longer in musing

Maybe now you watch me

You see me in that same curious light

That I see you from my percipient height

The me that I hide out of your plain sight

You see, we’re alike-- you and me

Only you are the only you that you need to be

The ending doesn't feel quite right... Any suggestions?

About
I got to a point where I forgot that I loved to write, and thought that I had to change that. It's therapy for me, but even better if it can inspire others. more..
