Love Waits

Love Waits

A Poem by LuthienThalia

A love that waits is strong and true,

But a love that does not comprehend is flawed.

A flaw can be fixed, they say.

Have you seen this flaw?

So crooked and bent,

Narrow and wide,

Jagged and sharp,

Like a knife.

This flaw is mine,

I'd not give it away,

But I fear my mind,

Is slipping away.

I wait and bide,

I keep my stride,

All for a flaw that continues.

This flaw is mine,

But not of that kind,

This flaw is mine

Because you are.

Your flaw is there,

Jagged and sharp,

Your flaw is bare,

Cutting straight to my heart.
