Not Anymore

Not Anymore

A Poem by Abbi

She sat there the memory fresh in her mind,

as if it hadn't happen over 2 years ago.

She sat there, silent, motionless.

Her eyes were empty. Black voids of nothing.

She wanted so badly to remember his voice,

his touch, his love.

But she couldn't let herself do that,

not after all this time.

Not ever.

The picture she held in her hand was torn and burnt.

No matter how hard she tried to get rid of all there was that reminded her of him,

she couldn't bring herself to do so.

So instead she ached for him everyday.

Died inside at the thought of him somewhere else.

He was always and always will be hers in her mind,

but not his. Never his.

To him she was nothing.

To her he was everything.

But not anymore. Nothing was anymore.

Not his love, nor her love.

They were simply strangers,

who had nothing in common anymore.
