Longing
A Poem by Lushan
Longing.
The absence of
the other.
The sense
of the absence
of the
other. An
other.
Another.
Not
there.

I love the rhythm, the repitition of other. The word "Mother" echoes in the background of this poem's semantics, but that's an Oedipal thing probably. It would be cool to write that this way, to some how add a syntactical device maybe a capitalized (M), bolded in front of one of the "other"s. A missing person, no matter how they become a vacancy to us, is always a hard thing to let settle.
