Puritas (Part II of "In Tenebris, In Lumine")

Puritas (Part II of "In Tenebris, In Lumine")

A Poem by LupusTacita

All but destroyed by the invisible beast within,

I lie battered and broken, shards of my mind abound.

Lacerated and bleeding, losing everything to sin.

But the warmth of light, and the faintest of sound.

It is a voice not unlike my own, but fierce, unyielding.

I am battered and broken, but I am not beaten.

The light is fire, power and grace, and I am wielding

A burning realization, this beast is more a cretin.

Fogged fear had taken refuge in my breast,

Blinding me to a silent strength thought lost.

Its discovery is undiluted relief, my heart rests,

I have seen the infinite dark, I know the costs.

I know I cannot be alone, this is no singular plight.

This evil is seen and heard, but we are no longer hidden.

We will be known, we will fight to bring back this light.

Life will imitate art, history will be unwritten.
