Eidolons

Eidolons

A Poem by Kenneth Compton

Lay me to rest, only in your mind
Interred beneath your remembrances
Forget my corporeal failings
And conjure more flattering Eidolons

For striking my blacker visages
May leave yours a brighter hue

The contrasts of being are striking, we do sometimes favour others in these complements of spectral and real is a kind of light. Thanks for sharing.
