Broken Bowl

Broken Bowl

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

Might be a bit on the acidic side, but true nonetheless.

"

When it comes right down to it

You simply aren’t enough person

To hold the love of another

Like a broken bowl, or a fractured glass

You hemorrhage the beauty of another

Till you drown in your own ineptitude

For this flaw, I feel somewhat sorry

But my empathy is tempered

By the ironic fact

That you simply aren’t enough person

To hear the truth from another

In between the lines you slipped this person the truth anyway.

I thought this had a lot of strength to it, like determination to for the truth to be heard. I really enjoyed it for that reason.

Wonderful, I like the honesty in this. That last line really hits hard. Great job.
