Hope

Hope

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

Know thyself, as they say

"

In me you will find hope
A reason to believe again
In the dreams you hold dear

In me you will find hope
That spark that threatens
A blaze to consume the fear

In me you will find hope
And in the end
I will take it from you

For in me there is only lies
Built upon the festering facades
That breed only heartbreak

In me there is only pain
Shared like sickness through kiss
Contagious and terrible

In me there is but loss
Disappointment vast as oceans
I am made for naught but tragedy

And in me you will lose hope

A poignant and a sorrowful poem. Thank you for sharing.

Dark and depressing, leave me sad for the man who would feed on someone's hope, lie to her, make her feel there is a possibility, only to take it from her. Makes me wonder what happened to the man that would do that to a woman. Is it a facade or is it a wall...tragic indeed
