Crossing Over

Crossing Over

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

Inspired by the genetics portion of my biology class

"

Within you, there will be me
In every cell and every fiber
I will reside
Changing the shape of you
Effecting even your perceptions

Within me, there will be you
In every pore and every sensation
You will reside
Altering the core of me
Effecting even my reason

Together we are whole
Entwined, entangled, engendered
For in all, there is all
And my essence will perpetuate timelessly
For Within You, There Will Be Me

oh i really like the use of the verb "effecting"

it is seldom used..and this is the perfect setting for it.

"for within you, there will be me"

in relationships we often change the shape of each other...and hopefully it is in a good way...a change for the good...a lonely heart into a fulfilled heart,

not where we try to change the other to suit ourselves, the make that person into some ideal of him or her.

i really like this smart piece of writing.
