Regrets and Mistakes

Regrets and Mistakes

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

Don't ever write while inebriated. Trust me, no good comes of it.

"
The devil has within me
All the regret of the world
Poured as through a sieve
To experience all the facets
Of my mistakes
I take these itchy wounds
Open them to the world
To find a semblance of solace
In the dark places of my mind
Hopefully
My cracks fill the gaps that fester
In the hearts you hide

i think, yes. Poetry can do this...it is a purging of sorts, a confession of sorts, and opening up to let others see the real us...even if we mask in abstract...the readers see, the readers get a sense of us...
it's inevitable..

we need poetry...we need to write the words we write..

we need to fill the gaps..
