Jumping Into Death's Embrace (Pt 1)

Jumping Into Death's Embrace (Pt 1)

A Poem by Lunare
"

This is a series of poems in which a man, who has lost his wife and unborn child in a car accident after they had a terrible fight, is contemplating different methods of suicide to end his pain.

"

Jumping

The breeze swept across my face, and seized my tears from their place,
Never again to stream down my cheeks, never again before I leap.
The final straw was losing you, choosing now to end this too.
I only wish to love, to feel once more, yet I’m amiss above the shore.
The only thing left to do, is to bereft myself from thoughts of you,
Never to feel the pain anew, I knew my time on earth was through.

If I were to accept death’s final kiss, would anyone really care to miss?
I think not, and this is true, in death I may finally be with you,
Your life was taken away from me; so now I come to join you, see?
I cannot live, knowing you’re not mine, and so I say this one last time,
I love you more than my own life that I now take to end my inner strife.
Death is all that’s left to ease my pain, please my love, whisper my name…

My fate was set above the sea, never to sate my thoughts of thee,
And so I take my final steps, without a look back I finally leapt.
In but a moments time I will be gone, and with it all the memories I’ve sewn.
I feel at peace as the wind strikes my face, and I revel in death’s sweet embrace.
The impact was fierce, piercing both body and soul, yet there’s something left to be told,
all thoughts of yore stopped in a moment, peace overwhelmed me-Nevermore.

The emotions in this are so clear, it's wonderful. I love the idea of a story through poems, great work.

be gentle.... this is prehaps one of the most visually engaging pieces i've been honoured to read,
indeed, you've got some real emotional talent and a way of shift shaping and 'crafting' and twisting your words into a very precocious and dark piece
absolutely enjoyed this poem
