Too LateA Story by Icejust...another little thing from my life...
You walk down the halls, glancing around, hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of him.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see him, with his cap on backwards. You smile, but it quickly fades. There he is, walking down the hall, with a girl. They seems to be very absorbed in a conversation, and you lower your head and quickly walk past. You reassure yourself that they're just friends, nothing more. You try, but something just tells you it's probably not. You're standing there, talking to your friends. You hear someone mention his name, and you strain to hear more.
You almost choke. You feel your heart shatter. Those words ring in your ears. Memories flood back to you, memories of you and him, when you were inseparable. You even have to fight back tears. But you know you can't cry in front everyone, not here. You quickly put on a smile again, and act as if everything's alright. You try to forget today, try to wipe it from your memory, but fail. Every time you close your eyes, all you see is him. You only hear his voice, resonating in your ears. His scent is the only thing you remember now. His touch that's no longer there haunts you. Yet, you decide to hold on to the hope that none of this was true. But deep in your heart, you can't help but wonder whether it was Too Late.
