Apostasy

Apostasy

A Poem by Lunalove6963

They all think
I'm some kind of saint
Truth is
I'm the worst sinner
You will ever meet
I lust
I lie
I won't deny
I have given up on the God
I was taught to save this world
I'm not worth saving
I have gone to the other side
I am closer to hell then anyone knows
Except you
You know
I traveled this far
Will you take me
Teach me your ways
My angel of darkness
You have already consumed me
With your fire
I'm surrendering my soul
To you
So come and devour me

as a sinner and Christian ... i must admit this is disturbing for me to read ... it reads pretty confessional to me ... my first impulse is to reach out to you but the "speaker" in this has made up their mind .. giving in to an idea, belief or anything on a mental and emotional level is always dangerous says i! even for one who dedicates to the Living God can confess the truth of the Bible that tells us: "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Hebrews 10:31 i think me Da got an inkling of that when he confided in me one time in my youth ... he said "...don't promise God anything" i think he had the knowledge that if one does promise God ... God will take us up on it so we had better be ready to pay the price if need be ;) i think your poem is well written ... free form certainly fits the theme .. the story telling is captivating and organized .. some powerful use of verbs says i ... hope you are well ... i came to check your poetry out as i saw you are a writer to watch ;) i also read you are new ... welcome to the Cafe' ..i have found it a place to grow in every way ...
