Jake
A Poem by LunalitSol
poem written while in a long distance relationship.
- Jake
Insecurity and Doubt tug at Puppet strings The heat of your breath on my ear Real or imagined Holding my feet to the ground I resist for the feel of you beside me Anxiety brushes against my heart Worn down Nerves thin The worried question bursts through clenched teeth. reassurance, confidence Addictive notes of your voice drift through me Intoxicating Purifying Lips quirk up And Worry washes away Both poison and antidote You rush through my system Making my blood molten And nerves frozen With the sound of your voice, tired and deep Then soft steady sounds of inhale, exhale I know you're all I need And your breathing is the perfect lullaby for me as I fall asleep

A nicely written poem about a difficult subject, the conflicted feelings of long distance love.
