Safe

Safe

A Poem by Hannah Audibert

When we met

everything was perfect

you saw past my flaws

past my scars

you thought I was beautiful

you thought I was an angel

in reality I was no angel

but I wasn't the devil either

we had a one year thing

you left after one year

you never said goodbye

you left that to your friend to do for you

now im left crying in the night

yelling your name in my nightmares

you went to fight for us

but I have dreams of you dying and not returning

I have sleepless nights

nights I wake crying

or can't sleep

because of crying

I lay on my bed

praying

that you will be strong

that you will come home safe

people say I didn't deserve how you left

but I didn't deserve you

you were kind and nice

you were a perfect gentle man

people don't know I can take this

I can take the sleepless nights

I can take not eating because of stress

just till you come home

safe

Sorry all my writing for awhile is gonna be about my ex boyfriend. he left to be in the marines and as this poem says he didn't say goodbye he had his friend tell me. his friend said he'll be gone for about six year if he makes it back.

please tell me what you think :)

i feel sorry for you, such a sad Poem, and it's good to put pain into words. But after that is done it's time to pass by, to look at nicer things and to forget that guy.
