The Chessboard

The Chessboard

A Poem by Sanctuary Dementia
"

So often people act and move and are inevitably pawns by a variety of things in this world, whats important is standing up and surviving, because life has no reset button. Its not a game.

"

Renegade hearts out of control

Playing the games without any cards

No remorse for the losing hand

The joys of the winner sung by the bards

Rampant feet pounding carefully in time

Telling the tales others fear to whisper

Of lands won and lost by a single hand

Kings and Queens torment others who whimper

Cruel laws enacted to play yet another game

Its whose got the money, that can make the bet

Until the worlds collide, and control does change

The cycle continues, and the chess board is set

The victor is remembered for all of time

Meanwhile the loser fades into anonymity

Such also is what we all of humanity does live

Our feelings enhanced said to last for eternity

Yet only serve to show us what is our path

Often confused by what is and what should be

So in the end we all must survive through reality

And break the bonds no matter the fee.

For nobody was born to be a servant or a slave

Equality for all men, no matter sex, age, or race

The vain and the content, the hero and the saved

All delivered into one final time and place

The walks of life may at times be hard

Yet at the end of the day we see the color of the rain

Joined hand in hand we walk through life

Knowing we can win the next fight, that life tis not a game.

About
Misery is one of my nicknames, it at one point all that I was for both myself, as well as for those around me. I was vile, I was cruel, and I do stil retain the ability to be as such, but Ive learned .. more..
