Not What I Seem

Not What I Seem

A Chapter by Christy Andrews

Here is the shell,

Of who I once was.

I'm hard as hell,

Yet, I'm full of scars.

Here's the memory,

Of who I once was.

They are just that,

A memory.

Nothing more than,

Pictures and words.

All of which,

I have left behind.

All of the good and bad,

I took and held it all in.

All of the ups and downs,

There's no way to forget.

All the pain I still endure,

I barley holding on.

All of these emotions,

Send my heart into turmoil.

As I hold on for my life,

I can't help but look back,

At the darkness in my heart.
