Sitting Here

Sitting Here

A Chapter by Christy Andrews

Sitting here alone,

Trying so hard to hold my own.

A knife in one hand,

And a picture in the other.

The knife so sharp,

Waiting to give me release.

The picture,

So warm and inviting.

A reminder to me,

Of the good days behind me.

A picture of my best friend and I,

Both smiling real smiles.

Smiles like the ones we haven't smiled in years.

We we're free and happy,

And now I sit here alone,

Wondering what your doing.

It's a rainy night,

Just like the ones we used to love.

The sorrow and the pain,

Of being the pain,

That almost ended my best friend,

That will never go away.

So now I sit here alone.

Wondering what's next.
