Words

Words

A Story by Christy Andrews

I love words. It's why my nose is always in a book, a pens in my hand, or my headphones are in my ears. It's why the brain is my favorite part of the body.

I will fall for what you say over how you look. This is also why I prefer compliments about my mind instead of my body.

I'd like to believe people choose their words carefully, even though I know that most people don't. This is why people over use the word love, and hate. They don't have the same strength as they used to.

I tend to believe lies and accept excuses because I put too much faith in words.

There have been far too many times where I feel for the words someone has said, even if their actions speak louder than their words. As hard as I try not to do that, it happens none the less.

I am more guided now than I have been in the past, but no matter how hard I try, I will always fall for a beautifully constructed sentence.
