Roses into the Abyss.A Poem by Luna LazarusNo.Red rose thorns fall into the abyss of tears at my feet… I’m still in denial, that you’re gone. I’ve waited, waited for days (maybe months, time has no meaning without you here) When will you come back?
I just know you can’t be gone, because you wouldn’t leave me alone, Not in this cruel world. You know my weaknesses, You know the world will eat me alive.
I’m still looking out the window, because you’re bound to come back. Any moment now, your sweet smiling face will appear in the doorway, And it will all be a joke, Just a Valentines Day prank. Is that soon? Has it passed? (maybe months, time has no meaning without you here)
Passed like time has not, perhaps, because it’s still dark. Dark like the night you left, But with less stars. It seems, my dear, as if the stars have extinguished themselves one by one, In a signal to bring you back- You are, after all, my shining star.
But, oh~ I can’t escape my horrid heart, Beating to the tune of our funeral song. . . (we’re so alone) Because you’re really gone, aren’t you?
My hands are shaking, and I can’t stop the cold It seeps into my bones deeply, And unfeelingly, Much like your love. (which is gone, gone like you andyou’renevercomingback) You’ve left me here, all alone? You have, and now it’s all gone. My mind goes numb, I can’t kill the pain. It will only bring more…
Maybe one day they’ll find me, Alone in a room, sitting on the floor, Facing the window with the drawn shades, Looking for love lost, alone. (forever alone because you left her, you left me) And they’ll mourn me, only ash Like I mourned that Valentines Day, Alone, without the stars... © 2011 Luna LazarusAuthor's Note
