On A Final Note...A Poem by Luna LazarusNo.The steady dripping sound reminds you of something, but you’re not quite sure what.
You close your eyes and drift backwards.
It could be the bathtub facet, dripping endlessly against the lukewarm puddle.
Or maybe the dripping of the precious red, spilling out of your veins… Too scared to scream, but unaware of the consequences.
It reminds you of the day at the lake, alone with your best friend.
Bestfriend is gone now, all gone…
You slam further backwards, and take the last plunge. The plunge to force your face underwater, The plunge to embed the knife in your chest.
Now you’re lightheaded, and wrapped in blanket of comforting warmth.
It reminds you of swinging, High in the pleasant summer sun.
But as seeds of regret fall into place, It’s too late, and you’ve sealed your fate. Now you’re already gone, all gone… © 2011 Luna LazarusAuthor's Note
