My Love Through Your Eyes

The night turns brilliantly turquoise,

And it matches the perfect blue-green hue

That fills your eyes.

 

Walking hand in hand down the plain concrete,

I feel a quiver of…happiness, truly happiness,

run through me.

 

Of all the great moments life has tossed my way

So far

This trumps all.

 

The way your skin glows with

The iridescent moonlight…

It’s like the angels are pointing out how lucky I am.

But I already know.

 

Because every time I hear you breathe in,

Then out,

It’s like another shock wave of love-ecstasy,

And another sign it’s not all just a dream.

 

Now you’re looking up,

Into the starry night,

To admire the beauty above us.

 

I still can’t believe this moment is mine,

And I’m waiting for another,

More beautiful,

Girl to stomp in,

And push me out of her scene.

 

You smile faintly, bemusedly,

And I’m anxious to hear what’s going through your mind,

But I’m not worried~

You always tell,

If I ask nicely enough.

 

You’re looking so beautiful,

And everything about you says you’re far,

Far away from here,

Wherever it is that you go,

When you think, and dream.
